Asos Lightening Bolt Earrings

I have taken a several month break from shopping. Why? Because I'm a broke-ass lady and I need to learn how to conserve my cash.

Then my tax return happened and I was all like "HOLY MOTHER OF MOSES, FREE MONEYS. BUY EVERYTHING." Consequently, I have spent many hours over the past week on the internet carefully selecting my loot.

Truthfully, I wanted to get these sweet-ass 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes. I was so excited when Saks announced a 20% off sale. Then I read the terms and conditions (which no one really reads). Mother fuckers excluded 3.1 Philip Lim from the sale. In my head, I was prepared to spend 4-5 precious hundies on the shoes. But without the discount, plus tax and shipping, the shoes were like 700 big ones. Too much, Phillip. Too, too much.

Point of the story, I really never had any business buying designer shoes. In good news, I got lots of smaller fun things for a fraction of the cost!
How this relates to today's craft: it does not.
I just miss talking to you. Sue me.

In my scouring of the eCommerce world I found these sweet ass earrings:

These are hot. Save your 30 dollars for future 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes and make them.

And make them I did:

Not too shabby, right?!
Another fun craft that have received many several a few two compliments.

Beauty DIY: Neon Rainbow French Manicure

Yeah. Say that title five time fast.

...No, don't. I tried. It's not cute.

Hey! I'm doing my second nail art tutorial. Giggety.
Check out these fine nails:
"Dayummmm girl. Those are some fine nails!"
Yeah. I know. I said that just before the photo. Dude, pay attention.

Hammered Metal Necklace

Hey, fools. I made a really awesome necklace:

Truth is, it's pretty hard to photograph the awesomeness. It looks so rad on my bod, but I didn't have a chance/avaiable amigo to photograph me. So use your imagination and picture this necklace, on my neck, looking superb.

Free People Inspired Head Band

This is a post for my flower children. I have been lusting after all the Coachella pictures on the internertz. And by lusting I mean, I have been totes jeals.

So I made a lil' flower child headband to commemorate my jealousy.

I pulled some flower-power inspiration from the freeps. (That's short for Free People. I know the lingo 'cause I worked there in college.)

When I smile pretty I'm just like the models, rightttttttttt!?
No.
But a girl can dream.

Beauty DIY: Chevron Nails

I have a nail polish fetish, as we all learned when I made shelving units, exclusively for nail polish.

Hold up. I know you are wondering where I have been for the past few days.
I had the flu. It sucked. It's over. I'm back.

Stop distracting meeeeeeeeee.

I did some nail art and got lots o' happy compliments so I decided to give you a happy lil' tutorial.

See happy nails (and sad, sad cuticles):

Chain Crafting Part 5: Chain Headband

I hope everyone had a faaaaaaabulous holiday weekend. How funsies was it that Passover and Easter fell on the same weekend. So festive.
My holiday was superb. Ninja-mom made the most delicious meal whilst still avoiding all those non-kosher-for-Passover foods that make life so good. (eh-ehm bread.) I also went to the New York Botanical Gardens which was just b-e-a-utiful.

In other news, I am craving a slice of pizza.

In crafty news, I made a chain and ribbon headband.
Check out this mint and gold dream:

Flower Bead: Kapow!

Back in the day when I was dicking around studying abroad in Tel Aviv, I found myself volunteering as an arts and crafts teacher to new immigrant kiddies.

Wait. WAIT. I totally already told you this story, like, wayyyyy back in the day. (In digital time, four months is basically a life time.) I have neither the interest nor the energy to retype that shit up.

The only additional bit of information I feel the need to share you might want is that when I learned the awesome ‘sushi roll’ fimo technique, I maybe went a little bead happy. I made so many beads. And then I made bracelets. And then I gave them to all of my best ladies as "I'll-miss-you-when-we-aren't-all-abroad-together" gifts. And then I came home and made more beads, and more bracelets, and then I sold them for boat loads of money. Then school got busy and I had to take a step away from the fimo beads. But I still have like 50 bracelets lying around my apt. I will photograph them and put on etsy shortly. I say that like it’s something that I’m actually gonna do. We’ll see. We’ll. see.

Fast forward to now. Ima teach you bitches how to make my sacred fimo bead. Put your seatbelt on, we’re about to embrak on a wild ride.
(Why, why do I say shit like that? The thing is, I have the power to delete that line, but I choose not to. I choose not to.)

Neon Rainbow Glitter Vase

Hey, guys! I made a neon rainbow glitter vase.

I'm pretty much obsessed.

It's very Kate Spade "Live Colorfully" and that makes me happy.
(I wish you were more affordable, Kate Spade.)

No, I won't be buying flowers for my vase, because Lola would knock that shit down immediately.  I'll keep these classy-ass fake flowers from Michael's on display. Forever.
