Mod-podge Heaven: Instapillow

Sometimes, being a DIY blogger is the most awesomest thing in the world. One of those times is now, because I received package stuffed with brand spankin' new Mod-podge products. If this blog is any indicator (and it is)  I go through Mod-podge like water. It is one of the best crafting tools in my very messy supplies closet.

Look at all these goodies!
Pretty sure I salivated like a puppy waiting for food when I unpacked all this goodness.

I am most excited about the photo-to-fabric transfer medium. With all the cool iPhone photography apps, I have tons of fly photos in my archive that I want to display. I decided to take one of my instagram pictures and transfer it onto a pillow.
Hence, the post title: INSTAPILLOW!
The transfer medium was unbelievably easy to use and worked like a dream. Kudos Mod-podge. Kudos.

Supplies:
2. Print out of a photograph.
3. Pillow from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Step 1:
1. Cover the print out with a thick layer of transfer medium. Don't be frugal, you want the medium to be think enough so that you can no longer see the photo under it.

Step 2:
Place the photo face down on the pillow in your desired position. Press down to make sure the whole surface of the photo is in contact with the fabric.

Step 3:
Let dry for 24 hours.

Step 4:
Use a soaking wet washcloth to remove the paper from the pillow.

MAGIC.
(or maybe science)

Snaps for apartment crafting.

I have to say, I'm super impressed at the quality of the transfer. I chose a very vivid image and the colors remained bright. I think I might embellish this pillow a bit with embroidery floss or notions. Ya digggg?

All of the rad Mod-podge products I received are available at Michael's stores. Make sure to follow Plaid on Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook for crafty tidbits.

Great job Melissa! I love this! I have been planning an Instagram photo transfer too, with pics of my pet that recently passed. Not sure what I'm going to put it on yet though. I would love to feature!

Wow that's is so great did you use a regular printer or is it a laser print. I would love to create something like your project.

Looks good, but you should have trimmed the edges of the photo for a more clean and professional looking finish.
