Sprinkle Dyed Tank

I was so excited to receive this awesome tie-dye kit from Tulip:

I was even more excited to find all of this goodness inside:
-Gloves to protect my hands
-Surface cover to protect my floor
-Rubber bands
-Bottles with dye powder
-Packets of dye powder.

I decided to try an unconventional technique that we shall call "Sprinkling" going forward. I promise I'll show you why... after the jump!

Step 1:
Start with a clean, dry, white tank top.

Step 2:
Wearing your gloves, mix a small amount of blue tulip dye powder with water in a mixing bowl.

Step 3:
Dip the bottom of the tank top into the dye. Lay out flat on the surface cover.

Step 4:
Place some dye powder in your dry palm.

Step 5:
Sprinkle the blue powder over the wet, dyed area. Let dry.

Check out this dreamy texture:

I love how spontaneous and unexpected the results were.

A big thank you to Tulip for sending me this fantastic tie-dye kit and inspiring this shirt! All of their products can be found at your local Michael's. You can also connect on twitter @ilovetocreate, facebook, and pinterest

I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with iLoveToCreate.com and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.

I like the technique and results. It doesn't look like traditional tie dye either - bonus.
